MMWC owns and is responsible for all wells, pumps, tanks, distribution lines, and service connections (including meters.) The company is NOT responsible for tap lines (aka lateral lines) connecting individual properties to the company’s main line(s). Installation, cost, maintenance of tap/lateral lines are the sole responsibility of the owner.
The MMWC system is located on easements of member owned land. The system’s wells (2) and tanks, and the distribution/main lines are located on private property with easements specific to MMWC. The easements grant the company rights to access lines, meters, valves, etc. for board approved work, including the reading of meters. Members are required to make the easements available to the company. It is highly recommended that members place fences, outbuildings, etc. appropriately.
